In the 2U chassis, there is a small controller board to monitor the temperature
and fan speed. This controller board requires to have power connect to it for
it to function normal. The picture below shows how the floppy drive's power
connector is connected to this controller. If the power is not connected to this
board, the fan will not operate and LEDs will not lit up. The temperature
sensor coming out from this board needs to be placed in the sensentive spot that
you want to monitor. If the temperature is higher than the set temprature, it
will sound the alarm buzzer.
